Ley de los cosenos - problemas y soluciones
Problema 1
Problema 2
En el [tex]\triangle ABC[/tex], el punto [tex]M[/tex] es el punto medio de [tex]AB[/tex], [tex]AC=8[/tex], [tex]BC=7[/tex] y [tex]CM=6{,}5[/tex]. Halla [tex]\angle ACB[/tex].
[tex]30^\circ[/tex]
[tex]90^\circ[/tex]
[tex]60^\circ[/tex]
[tex]120^\circ[/tex]
Solución:
De la ley de los cosenos se obtiene la fórmula de la mediana [tex]CM^2=\frac{2AC^2+2BC^2-AB^2}{4}[/tex].
[tex]4 \times 6{,}5^2=2 \times 64+2 \times 49-AB^2[/tex], [tex]169=226-AB^2[/tex], [tex]AB^2=57[/tex].
[tex]\cos\angle ACB=\frac{AC^2+BC^2-AB^2}{2 \times AC \times BC}=\frac{64+49-57}{2 \times 8 \times 7}=\frac{56}{112}=\frac{1}{2}[/tex].
[tex]S=\frac{1}{2}ab\sen \gamma \Rightarrow 84=\frac{1}{2} \times 13 \times 15 \times \sen \gamma \Rightarrow \sen \gamma=\frac{168}{195}=\frac{56}{65}[/tex].
El triángulo es acutángulo, por eso [tex]\cos\gamma>0[/tex] y [tex]\cos\gamma=\sqrt{1-\frac{3136}{4225}}=\frac{33}{65}[/tex].
Por la ley de los cosenos: [tex]c^2=13^2+15^2-2 \times 13 \times 15 \times \frac{33}{65}=169+225-198=196[/tex], [tex]c=14[/tex].
Comprobación: [tex]15^2=225<13^2+14^2=365[/tex], es decir, el mayor ángulo también es agudo.
Problema 4
[tex]4[/tex] y [tex]7[/tex]
[tex]5[/tex] y [tex]6[/tex]
[tex]2[/tex] y [tex]9[/tex]
[tex]3[/tex] y [tex]8[/tex]
Solución:
Sean [tex]a[/tex] y [tex]b[/tex] los lados. Entonces [tex]a+b=11[/tex].
[tex]7^2=a^2+b^2-2ab\cos 60^\circ=a^2+b^2-ab=(a+b)^2-3ab[/tex].
[tex]49=121-3ab \Rightarrow ab=24[/tex].
[tex]a[/tex] y [tex]b[/tex] son las raíces de [tex]t^2-11t+24=0[/tex]: [tex]3[/tex] y [tex]8[/tex].
Problema 5
Halla [tex]MD[/tex] si [tex]AN=2[/tex], [tex]NC=3[/tex] y [tex]\angle ACB=60^\circ[/tex].
[tex]\frac{5\sqrt{21}}{7}[/tex]
[tex]\sqrt{19}[/tex]
[tex]5[/tex]
[tex]\frac{5\sqrt{3}}{2}[/tex]
Entonces [tex]AC=5[/tex], [tex]BC=x+3[/tex], [tex]AB=x+2[/tex].
Por la ley de los cosenos para [tex]\angle ACB[/tex]: [tex](x+2)^2=5^2+(x+3)^2-2 \times 5 \times (x+3) \times \frac{1}{2}[/tex].
[tex]x^2+4x+4=x^2+x+19 \Rightarrow x=5[/tex], es decir, [tex]AB=7[/tex], [tex]BC=8[/tex].
[tex]\cos\angle ABC=\frac{AB^2+BC^2-AC^2}{2 \times AB \times BC}=\frac{49+64-25}{2 \times 7 \times 8}=\frac{88}{112}=\frac{11}{14}[/tex].
En el [tex]\triangle MBD[/tex], [tex]BM=BD=5[/tex]: [tex]MD^2=25+25-2 \times 5 \times 5 \times \frac{11}{14}=50-\frac{275}{7}=\frac{75}{7}[/tex].
[tex]MD=\sqrt{\frac{75}{7}}=\frac{5\sqrt{21}}{7}[/tex].
Problema 6
[tex]169=49+x^2-2 \times 7 \times x \times \left(-\frac{1}{2}\right)=49+x^2+7x[/tex].
[tex]x^2+7x-120=0 \Rightarrow x_1=8;\ x_2=-15[/tex] (no es solución).
Por lo tanto, [tex]AD=8[/tex].
Problema 7
[tex]6^2=\frac{d_1^2}{4}+\frac{d_2^2}{4}+2 \times \frac{d_1}{2} \times \frac{d_2}{2} \times \cos 45^\circ[/tex], [tex]4^2=\frac{d_1^2}{4}+\frac{d_2^2}{4}-2 \times \frac{d_1}{2} \times \frac{d_2}{2} \times \cos 45^\circ[/tex].
Restando: [tex]36-16=d_1d_2\cos 45^\circ \Rightarrow d_1d_2=\frac{20}{\frac{\sqrt{2}}{2}}=20\sqrt{2}[/tex].
[tex]S=\frac{1}{2}d_1d_2\sen 45^\circ=\frac{1}{2} \times 20\sqrt{2} \times \frac{\sqrt{2}}{2}=10[/tex].
Problema 8
[tex]BD=10;\ AC=28[/tex]
[tex]BD=11;\ AC=25[/tex]
[tex]BD=11;\ AC=27[/tex]
[tex]BD=12;\ AC=26[/tex]
[tex]324=338+2BD^2-256 \Rightarrow BD^2=121[/tex], [tex]BD=11[/tex].
En un paralelogramo [tex]AC^2+BD^2=2(AB^2+AD^2)[/tex]: [tex]AC^2=2(169+256)-121=729[/tex], [tex]AC=27[/tex].
Problema 9
[tex](x+d)^2=(x-d)^2+x^2+x(x-d)[/tex].
[tex]x^2+2xd+d^2=3x^2-3xd+d^2 \Rightarrow 2x^2=5xd \Rightarrow x=\frac{5d}{2}[/tex].
Los lados son [tex]\frac{3d}{2}[/tex], [tex]\frac{5d}{2}[/tex], [tex]\frac{7d}{2}[/tex], es decir, su razón es [tex]3:5:7[/tex].
Problema 10
Halla [tex]AB[/tex].
[tex]\sqrt{5}[/tex]
[tex]5[/tex]
[tex]2\sqrt{5}[/tex]
[tex]\sqrt{7}[/tex]
Solución:
Sea [tex]G[/tex] el baricentro, [tex]a=BC[/tex], [tex]b=AC[/tex], [tex]c=AB[/tex]. Entonces [tex]AG=\frac{2}{3}m_a[/tex], [tex]BG=\frac{2}{3}m_b[/tex] y [tex]\angle AGB=90^\circ[/tex]:
[tex]c^2=\frac{4}{9}(m_a^2+m_b^2)[/tex].
De las fórmulas de las medianas (que se deducen del teorema del coseno) [tex]m_a^2+m_b^2=\frac{a^2+b^2+4c^2}{4}[/tex].
[tex]9c^2=a^2+b^2+4c^2 \Rightarrow 5c^2=16+9=25[/tex].
Por lo tanto, [tex]AB=\sqrt{5}[/tex].
Problema 11
[tex]\frac{7}{2}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{7\sqrt{3}}{3}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{7\sqrt{3}}{6}[/tex]
[tex]7[/tex]
Solución:
Por el teorema del coseno en el [tex]\triangle AOB[/tex]: [tex]\cos\angle AOB=\frac{25+9-49}{2 \times 5 \times 3}=-\frac{1}{2}[/tex], es decir, [tex]\angle AOB=120^\circ[/tex].
[tex]AO[/tex] y [tex]BO[/tex] son bisectrices, así que [tex]\angle AOB=180^\circ-\frac{\alpha+\beta}{2}=90^\circ+\frac{\gamma}{2}[/tex]. Por lo tanto, [tex]\gamma=60^\circ[/tex].
Por el teorema del seno: [tex]R=\frac{AB}{2\sen 60^\circ}=\frac{7}{\sqrt{3}}=\frac{7\sqrt{3}}{3}[/tex].
Problema 13
Sea [tex]\cos\angle ADC=x[/tex].
En el [tex]\triangle ADC[/tex]: [tex]AC^2=225+64-2 \times 15 \times 8 \times x=289-240x[/tex].
En el [tex]\triangle ABC[/tex]: [tex]AC^2=49+64+2 \times 7 \times 8 \times x=113+112x[/tex].
[tex]289-240x=113+112x \Rightarrow 352x=176 \Rightarrow x=\frac{1}{2}[/tex].
Problema 14
En el cuadrilátero [tex]ABCD[/tex], [tex]AB=33[/tex], [tex]BC=63[/tex], [tex]CD=16[/tex], [tex]DA=56[/tex] y [tex]\angle A=\angle C[/tex]. Halla la diagonal [tex]BD[/tex].
Solución:
Sea [tex]\angle A=\angle C=\varphi[/tex]. Expresamos [tex]BD^2[/tex] desde dos triángulos:
[tex]\triangle ABD[/tex]: [tex]BD^2=33^2+56^2-2 \times 33 \times 56 \times \cos\varphi=4225-3696\cos\varphi[/tex].
[tex]\triangle CBD[/tex]: [tex]BD^2=63^2+16^2-2 \times 63 \times 16 \times \cos\varphi=4225-2016\cos\varphi[/tex].
[tex]3696\cos\varphi=2016\cos\varphi \Rightarrow \cos\varphi=0[/tex], es decir, [tex]\varphi=90^\circ[/tex].
[tex]BD^2=4225[/tex], [tex]BD=65[/tex].
Problema 15
[tex]2[/tex] y [tex]1[/tex]
[tex]2\sqrt{7}[/tex] y [tex]\sqrt{7}[/tex]
[tex]\sqrt{3}[/tex] y [tex]\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}[/tex]
[tex]2\sqrt{3}[/tex] y [tex]\sqrt{3}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{2}{7}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{1}{7}[/tex]
[tex]-\frac{2}{7}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{11}{14}[/tex]
Solución:
Sea [tex]AB=6[/tex], [tex]CD=3[/tex], [tex]AC=7[/tex], [tex]BD=8[/tex].
[tex]\cos\angle ACE=\frac{49+64-81}{2 \times 7 \times 8}=\frac{32}{112}=\frac{2}{7}[/tex].
Sea [tex]CD=x[/tex] y [tex]AC=BC=b[/tex].
En el [tex]\triangle BDC[/tex]: [tex]b^2=x^2+64-2 \times 8 \times x \times \frac{1}{2}=x^2-8x+64[/tex].
[tex]\angle ADC=120^\circ[/tex]. En el [tex]\triangle ADC[/tex]: [tex]b^2=x^2+9-2 \times 3 \times x \times \left(-\frac{1}{2}\right)=x^2+3x+9[/tex].
[tex]-8x+64=3x+9 \Rightarrow x=5[/tex], [tex]b^2=25+15+9=49[/tex].
Por lo tanto, [tex]AC=7[/tex].
Problema 19
En el [tex]\triangle ABC[/tex], [tex]BC=5[/tex] y [tex]\angle ACB=60^\circ[/tex]. El punto [tex]P[/tex] está sobre el lado [tex]AC[/tex], [tex]BP=7[/tex] y [tex]AP:PC=13:8[/tex]. Halla [tex]AB[/tex].
Solución:
Sea [tex]PC=x[/tex]. En el [tex]\triangle BPC[/tex]: [tex]49=25+x^2-2 \times 5 \times x \times \frac{1}{2} \Rightarrow x^2-5x-24=0 \Rightarrow x=8[/tex].
[tex]AP:PC=13:8[/tex], así que [tex]AP=13[/tex] y [tex]AC=21[/tex].
En el [tex]\triangle ABC[/tex]: [tex]AB^2=441+25-2 \times 21 \times 5 \times \frac{1}{2}=361[/tex].
Por lo tanto, [tex]AB=19[/tex].
Problema 20
Si [tex]AC=6[/tex], halla [tex]BC[/tex].
Solución:
En el [tex]\triangle AMC[/tex]: [tex]\cos\angle AMC=\frac{16+64-36}{2 \times 4 \times 8}=\frac{44}{64}=\frac{11}{16}[/tex].
[tex]\angle BMC=180^\circ-\angle AMC[/tex], así que [tex]\cos\angle BMC=-\frac{11}{16}[/tex].
En el [tex]\triangle BMC[/tex]: [tex]BC^2=25+64+2 \times 5 \times 8 \times \frac{11}{16}=89+55=144[/tex].
Por lo tanto, [tex]BC=12[/tex].
Problema 21
En el [tex]\triangle ABC[/tex], [tex]\angle ACB=60^\circ[/tex] y [tex]AC:BC=2:3[/tex]. Sobre el lado [tex]AC[/tex] se toma un punto [tex]M[/tex] tal que [tex]MB=AB[/tex]. Halla la razón [tex]AM:MC[/tex].
[tex]1:2[/tex]
[tex]1:1[/tex]
[tex]2:1[/tex]
[tex]1:3[/tex]
Solución:
Sea [tex]AC=2k[/tex], [tex]BC=3k[/tex]. Entonces [tex]AB^2=4k^2+9k^2-2 \times 2k \times 3k \times \frac{1}{2}=7k^2[/tex].
Sea [tex]CM=y[/tex]. En el [tex]\triangle MBC[/tex]: [tex]MB^2=y^2+9k^2-3ky=7k^2 \Rightarrow y^2-3ky+2k^2=0[/tex].
[tex]y=2k[/tex] da [tex]M \equiv A[/tex], así que [tex]CM=k[/tex] y [tex]AM=k[/tex].
[tex]AM:MC=1:1[/tex].
Problema 22
Las medianas de un triángulo miden [tex]m_a=\sqrt{13}[/tex], [tex]m_b=2[/tex] y [tex]m_c=\sqrt{7}[/tex]. Halla los lados del triángulo.
[tex]a=4;\ b=2;\ c=2\sqrt{3}[/tex]
[tex]a=2;\ b=2\sqrt{3};\ c=4[/tex]
[tex]a=2;\ b=4;\ c=2\sqrt{3}[/tex]
[tex]a=3;\ b=4;\ c=\sqrt{7}[/tex]
Solución:
Del teorema del coseno se obtienen las fórmulas [tex]m_a^2=\frac{2b^2+2c^2-a^2}{4}[/tex] (y las análogas para [tex]m_b[/tex], [tex]m_c[/tex]). Resolviendo el sistema respecto a los lados se obtiene [tex]a^2=\frac{4}{9}(2m_b^2+2m_c^2-m_a^2)[/tex] y análogamente para [tex]b^2[/tex], [tex]c^2[/tex].
[tex]a^2=\frac{4}{9}(8+14-13)=4[/tex], [tex]a=2[/tex].
[tex]b^2=\frac{4}{9}(26+14-4)=16[/tex], [tex]b=4[/tex].
[tex]c^2=\frac{4}{9}(26+8-7)=12[/tex], [tex]c=2\sqrt{3}[/tex].
Problema 23
En el [tex]\triangle ABC[/tex], [tex]AC=5[/tex], [tex]BC=7[/tex] y la mediana [tex]CM=\sqrt{21}[/tex]. Halla el área del triángulo.
[tex]20\sqrt{3}[/tex]
[tex]5\sqrt{21}[/tex]
[tex]14[/tex]
[tex]10\sqrt{3}[/tex]
Solución:
Por la fórmula de la mediana (que se deduce del teorema del coseno): [tex]CM^2=\frac{2AC^2+2BC^2-AB^2}{4}[/tex].
[tex]84=50+98-AB^2 \Rightarrow AB^2=64[/tex], [tex]AB=8[/tex].
[tex]\cos\angle ACB=\frac{25+49-64}{2 \times 5 \times 7}=\frac{1}{7}[/tex], [tex]\sen\angle ACB=\sqrt{1-\frac{1}{49}}=\frac{4\sqrt{3}}{7}[/tex].
[tex]S=\frac{1}{2} \times 5 \times 7 \times \frac{4\sqrt{3}}{7}=10\sqrt{3}[/tex].
Problema 24
Problema 25
En el [tex]\triangle ABC[/tex], [tex]AC=5[/tex], [tex]BC=4[/tex] y la bisectriz [tex]CL=\frac{10}{3}[/tex]. Halla [tex]AB[/tex].
Solución:
Sea [tex]\angle ACL=\angle BCL=\varphi[/tex]. [tex]S_{ABC}=S_{ACL}+S_{BCL}[/tex]:
[tex]\frac{1}{2} \times 5 \times 4 \times \sen 2\varphi=\frac{1}{2} \times 5 \times \frac{10}{3} \times \sen\varphi+\frac{1}{2} \times 4 \times \frac{10}{3} \times \sen\varphi[/tex].
[tex]40\sen\varphi\cos\varphi=30\sen\varphi \Rightarrow \cos\varphi=\frac{3}{4}[/tex], [tex]\cos\angle ACB=\cos 2\varphi=2 \times \frac{9}{16}-1=\frac{1}{8}[/tex].
Por el teorema del coseno: [tex]AB^2=25+16-2 \times 5 \times 4 \times \frac{1}{8}=36[/tex].
Por lo tanto, [tex]AB=6[/tex].
Problema 26
Halla [tex]AC[/tex] y [tex]BC[/tex].
[tex]AC=40;\ BC=24[/tex]
[tex]AC=35;\ BC=21[/tex]
[tex]AC=24;\ BC=40[/tex]
[tex]AC=30;\ BC=18[/tex]
Solución:
Por el teorema de la bisectriz: [tex]\frac{AC}{BC}=\frac{AL}{LB}=\frac{35}{21}=\frac{5}{3}[/tex]. Sea [tex]AC=5k[/tex], [tex]BC=3k[/tex]; [tex]AB=56[/tex].
Por el teorema del coseno: [tex]56^2=25k^2+9k^2-2 \times 5k \times 3k \times \left(-\frac{1}{2}\right)=49k^2[/tex].
[tex]7k=56 \Rightarrow k=8[/tex], [tex]AC=40[/tex], [tex]BC=24[/tex].
Problema 27
En el [tex]\triangle ABC[/tex], [tex]BC=5[/tex] y [tex]\angle ACB=60^\circ[/tex], y la bisectriz [tex]CL=\frac{40\sqrt{3}}{13}[/tex]. Halla el perímetro del triángulo.
Solución:
Sea [tex]AC=b[/tex]. [tex]S_{ABC}=S_{ACL}+S_{BCL}[/tex]:
[tex]\frac{1}{2} \times 5 \times b \times \sen 60^\circ=\frac{1}{2} \times CL \times (5+b) \times \sen 30^\circ \Rightarrow CL=\frac{5b\sqrt{3}}{5+b}[/tex].
[tex]\frac{5b\sqrt{3}}{5+b}=\frac{40\sqrt{3}}{13} \Rightarrow 65b=200+40b \Rightarrow b=8[/tex].
Por el teorema del coseno: [tex]AB^2=25+64-2 \times 5 \times 8 \times \frac{1}{2}=49[/tex], [tex]AB=7[/tex].
[tex]P=5+8+7=20[/tex].
Problema 28
[tex]\frac{4\sqrt{3}}{3}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{\sqrt{3}}{3}[/tex]
[tex]\sqrt{3}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{2\sqrt{3}}{3}[/tex]
Solución:
Sea [tex]BC=x[/tex]. Por el teorema del coseno: [tex]49=25+x^2-5x \Rightarrow x^2-5x-24=0 \Rightarrow x=8[/tex].
[tex]R=\frac{AB}{2\sen 60^\circ}=\frac{7}{\sqrt{3}}[/tex].
La perpendicular desde el centro [tex]O[/tex] a la cuerda [tex]BC[/tex] la divide por la mitad, así que [tex]d^2=R^2-\left(\frac{BC}{2}\right)^2=\frac{49}{3}-16=\frac{1}{3}[/tex].
[tex]d=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{3}[/tex].
Problema 29
[tex]28\sqrt{3}[/tex]
[tex]7\sqrt{3}[/tex]
[tex]14\sqrt{3}[/tex]
[tex]28[/tex]
Solución:
Sea [tex]a[/tex] el lado. [tex]\angle ABC=120^\circ[/tex], [tex]BM=\frac{a}{2}[/tex].
En el [tex]\triangle MBC[/tex]: [tex]CM^2=a^2+\frac{a^2}{4}-2 \times a \times \frac{a}{2} \times \left(-\frac{1}{2}\right)=\frac{7a^2}{4}[/tex].
[tex]49=\frac{7a^2}{4} \Rightarrow a^2=28[/tex].
[tex]S=a^2\sen 60^\circ=28 \times \frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}=14\sqrt{3}[/tex].
Problema 30
Halla [tex]\cos\angle MAN[/tex].
[tex]\frac{11}{14}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{6}{7}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{13}{14}[/tex]
Solución:
Sea [tex]2a[/tex] el lado. [tex]\angle ABC=120^\circ[/tex], [tex]BM=a[/tex].
En el [tex]\triangle ABM[/tex]: [tex]AM^2=4a^2+a^2-2 \times 2a \times a \times \left(-\frac{1}{2}\right)=7a^2[/tex]. Análogamente [tex]AN^2=7a^2[/tex].
[tex]\cos\angle MAN=\frac{7a^2+7a^2-a^2}{2 \times 7a^2}=\frac{13}{14}[/tex].
Problema 31
[tex]S=\frac{1}{2}ab\sen 120^\circ=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{4}ab \Rightarrow ab=60[/tex].
[tex]c^2=a^2+b^2+ab=(a+b)^2-60[/tex] y [tex]c=30-(a+b)[/tex]. Si [tex]s=a+b[/tex]: [tex](30-s)^2=s^2-60 \Rightarrow s=16[/tex], [tex]c=14[/tex].
[tex]a[/tex] y [tex]b[/tex] son las raíces de [tex]t^2-16t+60=0[/tex]: [tex]6[/tex] y [tex]10[/tex].
Los lados miden [tex]6[/tex], [tex]10[/tex] y [tex]14[/tex].
Problema 32
Halla [tex]a[/tex], [tex]b[/tex] y [tex]c[/tex].
[tex]a=8;\ b=7;\ c=3[/tex]
[tex]a=3;\ b=7;\ c=8[/tex]
[tex]a=5;\ b=\sqrt{31};\ c=6[/tex]
[tex]a=3;\ b=\sqrt{73};\ c=8[/tex]
[tex]\frac{a+c-b}{2}=2 \Rightarrow b=11-4=7[/tex].
Por el teorema del coseno: [tex]49=a^2+c^2-ac=(a+c)^2-3ac=121-3ac \Rightarrow ac=24[/tex].
[tex]a[/tex] y [tex]c[/tex] son las raíces de [tex]t^2-11t+24=0[/tex], y [tex]c>a[/tex]: [tex]a=3[/tex], [tex]c=8[/tex].
Problema 33
En el [tex]\triangle ABC[/tex], [tex]a+b=8[/tex], [tex]c=7[/tex] y [tex]\gamma=120^\circ[/tex]. Halla el coseno del ángulo intermedio.
[tex]\frac{13}{14}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{11}{14}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{5}{14}[/tex]
[tex]\cos\varphi=\frac{3^2+7^2-5^2}{2 \times 3 \times 7}=\frac{33}{42}=\frac{11}{14}[/tex].
Problema 34
[tex]R=\frac{AB}{\sqrt{3}}=\sqrt{21}[/tex].
Problema 35
Halla los catetos [tex]a=BC[/tex] y [tex]b=AC[/tex] si [tex]CM=2\sqrt{10}[/tex] y [tex]CN=5[/tex].
[tex]a=6;\ b=9[/tex]
[tex]a=9;\ b=6[/tex]
[tex]a=5;\ b=10[/tex]
[tex]a=6;\ b=8[/tex]
Solución:
Sea [tex]AB=c[/tex]. [tex]\cos A=\frac{b}{c}[/tex], [tex]AM=\frac{c}{3}[/tex]. En el [tex]\triangle AMC[/tex]:
[tex]CM^2=b^2+\frac{c^2}{9}-2 \times b \times \frac{c}{3} \times \frac{b}{c}=\frac{b^2}{3}+\frac{a^2+b^2}{9}=\frac{4b^2+a^2}{9}[/tex].
Análogamente, en el [tex]\triangle BNC[/tex]: [tex]CN^2=\frac{4a^2+b^2}{9}[/tex].
[tex]4b^2+a^2=360[/tex], [tex]4a^2+b^2=225 \Rightarrow b^2=81[/tex], [tex]a^2=36[/tex].
[tex]a=6[/tex], [tex]b=9[/tex].
Problema 37
no existe tal triángulo
Solución:
Sea [tex]AC=5k[/tex], [tex]AM=AB=2k[/tex], [tex]BC=a[/tex].
[tex]4AM^2=2AB^2+2AC^2-BC^2 \Rightarrow 16k^2=8k^2+50k^2-a^2 \Rightarrow a=k\sqrt{42}[/tex].
[tex]\cos\angle BAC=\frac{4k^2+25k^2-42k^2}{2 \times 2k \times 5k}=-\frac{13}{20}<0[/tex].
El triángulo es obtusángulo.
Problema 38
Halla [tex]AB[/tex].
Solución:
Sea [tex]AC=x-5[/tex], [tex]MC=x[/tex], [tex]BC=x+5[/tex].
[tex]4MC^2=2AC^2+2BC^2-AB^2[/tex].
[tex]4x^2=2(x-5)^2+2(x+5)^2-AB^2=4x^2+100-AB^2[/tex].
[tex]AB^2=100[/tex], [tex]AB=10[/tex].
Problema 39
[tex]x \in (5;+\infty)[/tex]
[tex]x \in (3;5)[/tex]
[tex]x \in (5+2\sqrt{5};+\infty)[/tex]
[tex]x \in (5;5+2\sqrt{5})[/tex]
Solución:
Desigualdad triangular: [tex](x-3)+x>x+2 \Rightarrow x>5[/tex].
[tex]x^2-10x+5>0 \Rightarrow x<5-2\sqrt{5}[/tex] o [tex]x>5+2\sqrt{5}[/tex].
Junto con [tex]x>5[/tex]: [tex]x \in (5+2\sqrt{5};+\infty)[/tex].
Problema 40
[tex]\frac{5\sqrt{2}}{2}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{7}{2}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{\sqrt{37}}{2}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{7\sqrt{2}}{2}[/tex]
Solución:
[tex]AB=5[/tex], [tex]AO=\frac{5\sqrt{2}}{2}[/tex] (la mitad de la diagonal del cuadrado) y [tex]\angle OAB=45^\circ[/tex].
[tex]\cos\angle CAB=\frac{3}{5}[/tex], [tex]\sen\angle CAB=\frac{4}{5}[/tex], y [tex]\angle CAO=\angle CAB+45^\circ[/tex]:
[tex]\cos\angle CAO=\frac{3}{5} \times \frac{\sqrt{2}}{2}-\frac{4}{5} \times \frac{\sqrt{2}}{2}=-\frac{\sqrt{2}}{10}[/tex].
Por el teorema del coseno en el [tex]\triangle ACO[/tex]: [tex]CO^2=9+\frac{25}{2}+2 \times 3 \times \frac{5\sqrt{2}}{2} \times \frac{\sqrt{2}}{10}=9+\frac{25}{2}+3=\frac{49}{2}[/tex].
[tex]CO=\frac{7\sqrt{2}}{2}[/tex].
Problema 41
Halla [tex]\angle MAN[/tex].
[tex]45^\circ[/tex]
[tex]30^\circ[/tex]
[tex]60^\circ[/tex]
[tex]75^\circ[/tex]
Solución:
Sea [tex]6[/tex] el lado del cuadrado. Entonces [tex]BM=MC=3[/tex], [tex]DN=2[/tex], [tex]CN=4[/tex].
[tex]AM^2=36+9=45[/tex], [tex]AN^2=36+4=40[/tex], [tex]MN^2=9+16=25[/tex].
Por el teorema del coseno: [tex]\cos\angle MAN=\frac{45+40-25}{2\sqrt{45} \times \sqrt{40}}=\frac{60}{60\sqrt{2}}=\frac{\sqrt{2}}{2}[/tex].
Por lo tanto, [tex]\angle MAN=45^\circ[/tex].
Problema 42
[tex]1[/tex]
[tex]\sqrt{3}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{\sqrt{7}}{2}[/tex]
[tex]2[/tex]
Solución:
[tex]S=\frac{1}{2} \times 2 \times 1 \times \sen\angle BAC=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2} \Rightarrow \sen\angle BAC=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}[/tex], es decir, [tex]\angle BAC=60^\circ[/tex] o [tex]120^\circ[/tex].
[tex]CM=\sqrt{3}[/tex].

[tex]\frac{4}{3}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{4}{5}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{3}{4}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex]
[tex]\cos\angle AGB=\frac{\frac{20}{9}+\frac{20}{9}-8}{2 \times \frac{20}{9}}=-\frac{4}{5}[/tex].
El ángulo agudo [tex]\varphi=180^\circ-\angle AGB[/tex] cumple [tex]\cos\varphi=\frac{4}{5}[/tex], [tex]\sen\varphi=\frac{3}{5}[/tex].
[tex]\tan\varphi=\frac{3}{4}[/tex].

[tex]4[/tex]
[tex]2\sqrt{3}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{16}{3}[/tex]
[tex]\sqrt{14}[/tex]
Solución:
Sea [tex]CA=4[/tex], [tex]CB=8[/tex], [tex]AB=9[/tex].
[tex]\cos\angle BAC=\frac{16+81-64}{2 \times 4 \times 9}=\frac{33}{72}=\frac{11}{24}[/tex].
En el [tex]\triangle ACL[/tex]: [tex]CL^2=16+9-2 \times 4 \times 3 \times \frac{11}{24}=25-11=14[/tex].
[tex]CL=\sqrt{14}[/tex].
