Drag protons, neutrons and electrons into the atom and see what you have made: the element in the periodic table, its symbol with the mass number and the atomic number, and the charge. The number of protons decides the element, the neutrons change the mass number (the isotope), and the electrons decide whether you have a neutral atom or an ion.
