Can somebody help me solve this equation, please?
[tex](a+2)\sqrt{580 + a^2 - 4 a} + a^2= 508[/tex]

The first thing I would do is subtract [tex]a^2[/tex] from both sides:
[tex](a+ 2)\sqrt{580+ a^2- 4^2}= 508- a^2[/tex]

Now, get rid of the square root by squaring both sides. That will give you a fourth degree polygon equation to solve.
