### Need help with simple formula for business

Hi,

Need help with a real problem for my small businesses if anyone would be so kind.

2 people will be investing in purchases for the business. Each will recieve a percentage of profits based on their total investment.

Example:
Purchase 1 is \$10,000 Partner A invests \$2000
Partner B invests \$8000 So far, partner A will get %20 profit, partner B gets %80 Purchase 2 is \$6,459
Partner A invests \$1459 Partner B invests \$5000

Now I need to know the total “ownership” (percentage of investment) for each partner in the total for both purchases.

This continues indefinitely. Is there a formula that I can use to plug in the purchases and investments and get the total ownership for each partner at any point in the investment activity?

Many thanks friends,

### Re: Need help with simple formula for business

Try this:

Take the total investment and divide by 100

Eg. 6459 ÷ 100 = 64.59

That is 1% of the total investment.

Therefore, 5000 ÷ 64.59 = 77.4113639882%

And 1459 ÷ 64.59 = 22.5886360118%

VALUE = 1% OF TOTAL INVESTMENT // "V"

CONTRIBUTION = X

PERCENTAGE OF PROFITS = Y

SO,

TOTAL INVESTMENT ÷ 100 = V

X ÷ V = Y

Hope this helps..
