[tex]\sqrt{ 2^{x }+ 2^{x } }[/tex]=1
Square both sides
[tex]2^{x}[/tex]+[tex]2^{x }[/tex]=1
2([tex]x^{2 }[/tex]

Combine like terms:
[tex]2^{x+1}[/tex]=1
Since [tex]2^{0}[/tex]=1, x+1=0
x+1=0
x=-1

Alternative method:
Divide both sides by 2
[tex]2^{x }[/tex]=[tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex]
x=-1
