x=[tex]\frac{-b \pmsqrt(b²-4ac) }{2a}[/tex]

2ax=-b[tex]\pm \sqrt{b²-4ac}[/tex]

(2ax+b)²=b²-4ac

4a²x²+4abx+b²=b²-4ac

4a²x²+4abx=-4ac

-ax²-bx=c

Double check:

Standard form is ax²+bx+c=0

c=-ax²-bx

Correct. Actually, the manipulation involved in solving for c is beyond Algebra 1.
