The graph of f(x)=ax+b is a straight line.

a (slope): determines the line's steepness.

The line rises (increases) if a>0.

The line falls (decreases) if a 0.

Greater |a| steeper line.

Where the line crosses the y-axis is indicated by the b (y-intercept).

The line rises when b is increased.

It slides down when b decreases.
