The number of seconds until the train has travelled the same number of rails as its speed in miles per hour is........
based on using the following examples......
If train travels at 1 mph then it is travelling at 1.467 feet per second.
time to travel (1 rail) or (30 feet) is 30 / 1.467 = 20.4545 seconds.
If train travels at 10 mph then it is travelling at 14.67 feet per second.
time to travel (10 rails) or (300 feet) is 300 / 14.67 = 20.4545 seconds.
So the time is 20.4545 seconds
