I think that the math achievementsof India mathematicians are greatest in the world.
Do you think so?
Or you agree with me that India achivements in math are greater than any other country?

:D I think India mathematicians are greatest, but the US, the UK, German, China, Japan, Israel, Taiwan have the greatest mathematicians, too. This type of questioning sparks debates, the time is better utilized for solutions and more efficient, simpler solutions. What the mathematicians in each nation support learning to both students, teachers, inventors, scientists, accountants, etc matters more. A lot of students find learning math challenging, so this needs urgent remedies, accessible to all from across the mathematical minds of nations. Thank you.

To me, Yordan Petrov Petrov ( Dancho ) from Varna, Bulgaria is a great mathematician for doing an excellent job
in sharing his intelligence in math by teaching. Thanks. Merry Christmas !!! :D

Indians are basically good in maths and have always been so!
I came across an achievement of another Indian Boy who has performed wonderfully well and was crowned Champion of Champions. What's more he even speaks so well! :D

Agreed. I did some research in this and found that all the following basically had their origins in India: Pythagoras theorem; then Aryabhatta is credited with finding out the exact value of pi and the time period of the earth's rotation; then there was Brahmagupta who used zero as a number and negative numbers and he also gave the statement 'A negative integer multiplied by a negative integer gave a positive integer' and also the quadratic method of solving equations; then Mahavira showed ability in indeterminate equations. And the list goes on...

Yes, I think that Indian mathematician played a great role in math history. I would like to share names of great mathematicians of India: Aryabhatta, Brahmagupta

Recently in 2014,an Indian mathematicians named Manjul Bhargava won a fields medal. Ramanujan also was from India. The fact that it is indian numeral;,not Roman Numeral that is now widely used is another great achievements. But telling that they are achievements are the greatest will be controversial.

I am perturbed by your use of the phrase "Indian Boy". Perhaps you are translating from another language but in English the use of "Boy" to refer to an adult man is demeaning.

And I am wondering what could be meant by "the exact value of pi". Elaine34, what do you mean by "finding the exact value of pi"?

Last week I read very interesting information about the Brahmagupta Interpolation Formula. This interpolation formula of the second polynomial order, found by the Indian mathematician and astronomer Brahmagupta (598-668) at the beginning of the 7th century AD. A poetic description of this formula in Sanskrit is found in the supplementary part of the Khandakhadyaka. Together with the Edubirdie service, I decided to write a small study about this formula and mathematics. Brahmagupta's formula coincides with Newton's second-order interpolation formula, which was found (rediscovered) after more than a thousand years. And it excites the consciousness.
