is i^2 is -1. is (1-i)^2 divided by (1+i)^2 a real number?

[tex]\left(\frac{1-i}{1+i}\right)^2=\left(\frac{1-i}{1+i}\cdot\frac{1-i}{1-i}\right)^2\\
\left(\frac{1^2-2i+i^2}{1^2+1^2}\right)^2=\left(\frac{-2i}{2}\right)^2\\
\left(-i\right)^2=i^2=-1[/tex]
:
