four years ago I was 11 X as old as my dog eight ball. Now I am 6 X as old as my dog.

Let 6d be your age now.

11(d-4) = 6d - 4
11d -44 + 4 = 6d
11d - 40 = 6d
5d = 40
d=8
so
6(8) = 48

You are 48 now and the dog is 8
