What is the difference between cm and dm?

First of all, what do cm & dm mean?

cm - centimeter, 1/100 part of a meter
dm - decimeter, 1/10 part of a meter

So, 1 m = 10 dm = 100 cm.

The difference is 10 times (1 dm is 10x 1 cm).
