An elevator at a construction site has a maximum capacity of 2250 pounds. If the elevator operator weighs 180 pounds and each bag of cement weighs 90 pounds, how many bags of cement can the operator bring onto the elevator without exceeding the maximum capacity? Start your work by defining the unknown quantities in terms of a variable. Show all work and write a complete answer, including units.

Let the number of cement bags be [tex]x[/tex]. So, [tex]2250=90x+180\Rightarrow\boxed{x=23}[/tex]
