A good start for this one would be to find the ratio of each persons age to one another.

That is ....Ratio of.....Nneka's age to Joke's age to Zainab's age.

Then see how many parts there is in the whole and divide it up.

Nneka to Joke is half to one = 0.5 to 1 = 1 to 2 = 1 : 2
OR 0.5/1 = 1/2.....ie Nneka is half of Joke's age

Similarily Joke is half of Zainab ..... 1 : 2
So Zainab is 4 times as old as Nneka

Joke is 2 times as old as Nneka
N : J : Z is 1 : 2 : 4
One part to Two parts to Four parts.....7 parts altogether
So divide the total into sevenths

N = 1/7 of total
J = 2/7 of total
Z = 4/7 of total

still in the same ratio 1 : 2 : 4

0.5 to 1 is same ratio as 1 to 2 is same ratio as 2 to 4

If the age of Nneha is 1 then the age of joke will be double of Nneha 2. And the age of Zainab id double of Joke so it will be 4.

The total sum of ages are 1 : 2 : 4 = 336
=> 1/7 : 2:7 4:7 = 336
=> Nneha:- 1/7 x 336 = 48
=> Joke:- 2/7 x 336 = 96
=> Zainab:- 4/7 x 336 = 192

so the age of Nneha is 48, Joke = 96 and Zainab = 192
48 + 96 + 192= 336
