Why does Nature have a 'split personality' (Quantum Theory for the very small stuff and Relativity Theory for the big stuff (classical world))?

Does Nature have a grand goal in mind?

Are the physicists overlooking something subtle and profound, too?

Remark: So far we have avoided the rich/deep field of mathematical physics and focused our attention on some topics, ideas, understanding, questions, goals, etc. But the deep ideas of physics requires math, and therefore, mathematical physics is unavoidable. We are also learning (physics, mathematical physics, etc.) and exploring. Hopefully, we'll do our best to make some good progress. Godspeed!
