If it is parallel to y axis then it must be vertical

The equation of the line is y=0x-2 or y=-2

I am sorry the equation above is when the line is parallel to Ox.

x=-1 is the equation you look for.

x,y is the notation for the co-ordinates of a point in the X,Y plane
So -1,-2 defines a point in the X,Y plane....... 1 unit to the left of the origin and 2 units below the origin
The line passes through this point and is vertical parallel to the Y axis.

For all values of Y,
X will be equal to -1
