Where is the mistake?

Is there a mistake?
[tex]1=1\\a=a\\a^2=a^2\\a^2-a^2=a^2-a^2\\a \cancel{(a-a)}=(a+a) \cancel{(a-a)}\\ \cancel{a}=2 \cancel{a}\\1=2[/tex]

8 x 0 = 2 x 0 (make a mistake and simplify 0 => 8 = 2)
0 = 0

[tex]\alpha[/tex]\alpha = 0
and we cannot simplify by dividing with zero (division by zero is not possible).

This is where the mistake is.

It's an interesting question for me and I find that you have solved it correctly without any mistake.
