Math Puzzle no one solved

Math Puzzle no one solved

Postby Guest » Sun Jan 15, 2023 4:29 pm

Here a math puzzle can anyone solve it?

Who am I?
I am a formula that connects two great mysteries,
The distribution of prime numbers and the behavior of certain functions.
I have been studied by many mathematicians,
But my true nature remains elusive.
Some believe that I hold the key to unlocking the secrets of the universe,
While others think that I may be a mirage, a chimera that will forever elude our grasp.
Despite the efforts of countless mathematicians, I remain a tantalizing enigma,
A challenge that has yet to be conquered.
GUESS

Let's go through the steps of the Collatz Conjecture with an example.

Suppose we start with the number 6:

The number 6 is even, so we divide it by 2: 6 ÷ 2 = 3.
The resulting number is 3, which is odd. We multiply it by 3 and add 1: 3 × 3 + 1 = 10.
The resulting number is 10, which is even. We divide it by 2: 10 ÷ 2 = 5.
The resulting number is 5, which is odd. We multiply it by 3 and add 1: 5 × 3 + 1 = 16.
The resulting number is 16, which is even. We divide it by 2: 16 ÷ 2 = 8.
The resulting number is 8, which is even. We divide it by 2: 8 ÷ 2 = 4.
The resulting number is 4, which is even. We divide it by 2: 4 ÷ 2 = 2.
The resulting number is 2, which is even. We divide it by 2: 2 ÷ 2 = 1.
And we have reached the number 1.

According to the Collatz Conjecture, no matter what positive integer you start with, eventually you will reach the number 1. However, despite extensive testing, no counterexamples have been found, and the conjecture remains unproven.
