Do you think that the world needs math?
Is there need of high school math?

Everything is a part of math . The world as it is cant really do anything without mathematics. Gravity, electric force , magnetic force.. everything is math :) The evolution of math follows humans quest for answers. We all use math in our daily lives; from shopping , to computers and games which work on engines(base programs containing many equations to allow the game to run) or computers that are considered binary brains '0' or '1'. Perhaps if we never learned the angles of lenses we wouldn't have glasses or telescopes. We all see math as something that perhaps looks very simple afar but when we attempt math it seems hard until you learn it. Perhaps as math evolves this difficult mathematics equations and problems will be as simple as 1 + 1 = 2 or so we hope. .. MATH is the BEST choice overall if you had to choose something to remember forever.

One needs to count! One needs to be precise about many things in life. I hold the view that the higher math is desirable subject to study. Regardless of Financial Institutions who could not possibly do without anyway, I believe that higher math makes an individual more organized and task oriented. Given the choice at school, I would probably think twice to study many other subjects, the usefulness of which now makes me wonder about their righteous intelligent trend, let alone the application in everyday's life.

Hi everybody ,
It's the fact that today math is the best part of today era used to solve ant technical problem .Even many of the topics as differential equation ,integral calculas etc are the main topics through which whole engineering is used .Similarly in math irrational numbers are also used for specific puropse. So we must know what is an irrational number and also some specific topics .

In my opinion maths is an important part of our daily lives and everyone uses it many times in a day which is knowingly or unknowingly, like for example-In calculating the money to give it to someone we need simple maths but its necessary.

In my opinion maths is a subject which is mostly used in our daily work like counting money, for buying something, taking estimation of distance and counting runs in cricket,All these things require little amount of mathematics, So I think world need maths definitely.

yes definitely mathematics is important in everyday life. Our day begins with math and ends with math. Math is present in dates, time,S.I units of measurements and everywhere. We cannot imagine a life without mathematics.

The world needs Math, yes of course it does. Each and everything depends on math. Right from being able to count money in our daily lives to the astronauts sent into space, everything requires Math. But there are two things which are always taught as a part of Math in school, for which I can really find no use at all:
1. Long Division. I mean, how often do we see people using long division in their adult lives? We were told in school that long division was meant for those occasions when we needed to divide large numbers and we don;t have a calculator at hand. But then, right now, each one of us probably has a minimum of at least 3 or 4 devices within arm's reach, capable of doing all types of division, long, short or otherwise.
2. Logarithms. We were told this would be used for all types of things. Log of base 10? That's important in engineering. Log of base 2? Oh, that's important in computer science. And log of base 'e'? Well, it's considered to be one of the most beautiful numbers in the universe. Oh really?!

I think maths is an important factor also even in everyday life. Directly or indirectly math is useful.

I think that math is necessary because it teaches us to face the problems and it enhances our mind skills to think it logically. We use math in our daily life also to calculate the money or to create anything with measurement.

Well, if you will look around then maths is an important part of our life. You must have experienced or seen the siblings fighting over the equal distribution of the pizza, choclates , pocket money and etc.

Maths is everywhere and should be enjoyed by all of us.

Thanks
