I'm dividing an amount in a fund between 6. However some of those six owe the fund. This is to be taken out of each individuals share, divided by six so that each individual gets their fair share returned. But I'm not confident my sums are correct. Maybe someone could verify my sums or provide the correct way to work this out. Thanks.

However after my calculation, one at least seems to be losing out.

Total to be divided = 385'000 (pot one)

Divide this by 6 = 64166.76

The second column, is the sum owed to the fund. Added together = 90'000 (pot 2) divided by 6 = 15'000 each.

Having taken the owed amount from the initial figure, this total is then owed to all six, so I have divided it by six.

The third column is first column minus second column.

The fourth column is the second column totalled and then divided by 6.

The fifth column is the total owed to each individual. Is this correct?

A: 64'166.67 - 42'000 = 22'166.67 + 15'000.00 = 37,166.67

B: 64'166.67 - 3'000 = 61'166.67 + 15'000.00 = 76,166.67 See below;

C: 64'166.67 - 30'000 = 34'166.67 + 15'000.00 = 49,166.65

D: 64'166.67 - 0 = 64'166.67 + 15'000.00 = 79,166.67

E: 64'166.67 - 0 = 64'166.67 + 15'000.00 = 79'166.76

F: 64'166.67 - 15'000 = 49'166.67 + 15'000.00 = 64,166.6

tot 385'000 90'000 289'000.02 90'000 385'000

Column B: This total seems wrong. 3000 put into pot 2 should, after splitting 6 ways now leave this individual 500, the other 2500 being split evenly between the other 5. But this is not so when you look at the total. when compared to D or E. And so on down the line.

What am I doing wrong here please?
