Here is an overview of sections 1.1 (the distance formula), 1.2 (components of functions), and 1.5 (circles); I have ommited section 1.3 as it pertains to how to use a graphing utility. In addition, section 1.4 is in close conceptual proximity to the spiderweb chart for linear functions, which is posted in the algebra 1 forum.
Important formulas:
Distance formula: d=[tex]\sqrt{(x2-x1)²+(y2-y1)²[/tex]
Midpoint: M=(x,y)=([tex]\frac{x1+x2}{2}[/tex], [tex]\frac{y1+y2}{2}[/tex])
Equation for the graph of a circle: (x-h)²+(y-k)²=r²
