f(f(x)=3(3x-1)-1
=9x-4

f(f(f(x)))=3(9x-4)-1
=27x-13

It should say composition of functions, rather than inverse functions. However a composition of functions can be used to determine whether 2 functions are inverse or not.

If f(x) and g(x) are inverses, f(g(x))=g(f(x)=x

We will get more into composition of functions as the weekend advances.
