[tex]x^{-4} = \frac{1}{x^4} = \frac{1}{256}[/tex]
[tex]x^4 = 256[/tex]

[tex]256 = 4^4[/tex]
so
[tex]x = 4[/tex]

x^-4 = 256^-1 => x^-4 = 4 ^-4 => x=4

x−4=1/256
1/x−4=1/256
1/x−4=1/256
x4=256
x4=4^4
So
x=4

X = + or- 4 is the answer

+4 x +4 x +4 x +4 = 256

-4 x -4 x -4 x -4 = 256
