if 1/14 and 0.2 , the biggest one will be the second, if 1/14 and 0.04 the biggest one will be the first

1/14 or 0.04
1/14 or 4/100
1/14 or 1/25
1/14 >1/25

Both of the fractions need to be in the same format to compare them easily. Convert 1/14 into decimal form or 0.2 into fractional form (standard). If we convert 1/14 into decimal we need to divide 1 by 14, which gives us 0.07 (approximately). Now 0.2 < 0.07, hence 0.2 is bigger than 1/14.

Question is : 1/14 and 0.2

1/14 and 2/10
= 1/14 and 1/5

Make denominator same of both terms :

5/80 and 16/80

Here we can see 5 < 16

Hence 0.2 is bigger than 1/14.

0.2 = 2/10
= 1/5

We have to find which is greater 1/14 or 1/5
We take LCM of 14 and 5 which is 70
now we make both the denominators same as below:

1/14 = 1*5/14*5
=5/70
and 1/5 = 1*14/5*14
= 14/70

Since the denominators are same we compare the numerators,

where 14>5
So, 1/5 is greater than 1/14 and .2 >1/14

1/14= 0.0714

so 1/14 is greater than 0.04

The question was...... Which fraction is bigger 1/14 or 0.04

There are Fourteen Fourteenths in one whole......and..... Twenty Five Zero point Zero Fours in one whole

14 x (1/14) = 1

25 x (0.04) = 1

So if there are less bits or pieces in something then each bit must be bigger......

So 1/14 is bigger than 0.04

1/14 is one thing divided by fourteen to give 14 bits of the thing

0.04 is one thing divided by one hundred to give one hundred bits, but then every four of them are grouped together so that gives twenty five groups of four bits. Each group of bits contains four one hundredth sized bits of the thing and there are twenty five groups of them.

So the size of the bits depends on the size of the thing

We could also say that "IF [tex]\frac{1}{14}>\frac{2}{5}[/tex] then, since 14 and 5 are both positive, [tex]1(5)> 2(14)[/tex] or [tex]5> 28[/tex] since that is obviously not true (and 1/14 is not equal to 2/5), [tex]\frac{1}{14}< \frac{2}{5}[/tex].

Divide 1. (the whole) by 14 = .071428571 or 1/14 of (the whole ) is .071428571 is the decimal part of 1. then 0.2 is the larger figure.
Example: as in 1.0 inch it takes (14) .071428571 thousands to make an inch and it takes (5) .200 thousands to make an inch.
