Area - Circie

Area - Circie

Postby Guest » Fri Sep 25, 2015 2:37 pm

I came across this problem:

The radius of a circle is 3 ft. Calculate area.

Formulas given:

1) Area = pi x r^2 2) Area = pi x d^2 / 4

1) 3.1416 x 3 x 3 = 28.27 sq. ft. 2) 3.1416 x 9^2 / 4 = 63.61 sq. ft.

Where did I miscalculate ?

d = 6 not 9

Hope this helped,

At the place of 6, you have taken "9" so here you have done a mistake for which you are getting the wrong answer.
