Determine whether the given function is linear or nonlinear. If it is linear, determining the slope.

The function is linear as it's slope is constant.

Use two points to find the slope: [tex]\frac{-3.5-(-4))}{-1-(-2)}[/tex]=[tex]\frac{0.5}{1}[/tex]=[tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex]

f(x)=[tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex]x-3
