Trig Equation Help

Postby Guest » Thu Feb 11, 2021 6:32 am

Hi Folks, could someone please assist with this equation: 2 (9’–4’) TAN (47.5 degrees) = 10.9 . So, 2 x (5) = 10, TAN(47.5) = 0.39. So, I end up with 3.94. Would welcome some assistance. Cheers

Good afternoon!!

[tex]2\cdot\left(9'-4'\right)\cdot\tan\left(47,5^{\circ}\right)=2\cdot 5'\cdot\tan\left(47,5^{\circ}\right)=10'\cdot\tan\left(47,5^{\circ}\right)\approx 10'\cdot 1,091308501069271\approx 10,913085010692714'[/tex]

If you are getting 0,39 to tan, your calculator is set to radian angle, instead of degrees.

Hope to Have Helped (3H) :)
