A circular brass plate has the following dimensions:

Diameter; 6' 5"

Thickness; 4"

5 4" holes

Determine weight.

Brass weighs .3 lbs. / cu. in.

The plate is a cylinder.

Volume = Pi * r^ 2 * h

3.1416 * 38.5 * 38.5 * 4 = 18626.54 in^3 (gross vol.).

3.1416 * 2 * 2 * 4 = 50.26 in.^3 (vol. of 1 hole).

50.26 * 5 = 251.328 in.^3 (vol. of 5 holes).

18626.54 - 251.328 = 18375.21 in.^3 (net vol.)

18375.21 * .3 = 5512.56 = 5513 lbs.

Which steps are correct ?
