Percent to decimal

Postby Guest » Wed Aug 15, 2012 2:55 pm

On your math homework you have to turn 60% to a decimal.

Hey :D
You have to take 60% and turn it to a decimal,
it doesn't show a decimal in 60% but there is one at the end so it looks like this 60.%
you move the decimal to the left and you get 0.60 as your answer.
So your answer is 0.60
hope you got how to get the answer!
Bye

60 % = 60/100

We also know that on dividing a number by 10, 100, 100 we put a decimal before the number to represent it like., 6/10 = .6 . So, 60 by 100 = .6

Percent means per 100, so 50% means 50 per 100, or simply 50/100.
If you divide 50 by 100 you get 0.5 (a decimal number).
So, to convert 60% to decimal divide it by 100 and you will get 0.6 decimal number
