Depth - Cylinder

Postby Guest » Sun Jul 12, 2015 7:25 pm

A cylindrical quart container is 4 in. in diameter. Determine depth.

Check my calculations:

Volume = Pi x Radius squared x Height (Depth)

32 = 3.1416 x 2^2 x H

32 = 12.5664H

32/12.5664 = 12.5664H/12.5664

2.5464731 = 2.5 in. = H

Where did I make the error(s) ?

You've mixed up the units. 1 quart is not 32 cubic inches.

Hope this helped,

That helped.

1 quart = 32 oz. = 57.75 cu. in.

57.75 = 3.1416 x 2^2 x H

57.75 = 12.5664H

57.75/12.5664 = 12.5664H/12.5664

4.5995 = 4.5 in. = H
