a)[tex]\sqrt[3]{5x+9}[/tex]=-6
Cube both sides
5x+9=(-6)³
5x+9=-216
5x=-225
x=-45

b)[tex]\sqrt{5x+9}[/tex]=-6
There is no solution as the square root of an expression cannot evaluate to a negative number
