A cylindrical tank, 3.5 feet in diameter, and 5 feet high, is filled with snow. A quart of snow produces 3/5 pint of water.
Calculate amount (gallons) of water from melting the snow and depth (feet) of water in tank.
Volume of cylinder - pi * r^2 * h
3.14 * 1.75 * 1.75 * 5 = 48.08 = 48 cubic feet
48 * 7.48 = 359.64 = 360 gallons
360 / 4 = 90 quarts
90 * .6 = 540 pints
540 * .125 = 67.5 gallons
I think I miscalculated. Also, I am not sure how to calculate depth of water in tank.
