That is not an equation.

Error in my post:

4840 * 9N = (12 * .25 * N/3)

Solve for N.

This version of your equation is not much better...??????
The trivial solution is N=0

This ?
4840 * 9N = (12 * .25 * N/3) ^2

Solve for N.

My solution:

4840 * 9N = (12 * .25 * N/3) ^ 2

43560N = 12 * 3 *.25 * 3 * 3N ^2

43560N = 36 * .75 * 3N * ^2

43560N = 81 ^ 2

43560N = 6561

43560N = 6561
---------- -----
43560 43560

N = .15061

That is incorrect. Where did I make the error(s) ?

How do you know you are incorrect?
How did you get this....
43560N = 12 * 3 *.25 * 3 * 3N ^2....on the second line of your calcs

What is the reasoning behind each line of your calcs.

Surely the LHS of the equation works out to be 43560N.
and the RHS is simply N^2
Divide across by N gives
N=43560

"How did you get this....
43560N = 12 * 3 *.25 * 3 * 3N ^2....on the second line of your calcs"

I was guessing:

I multiplied by 3 to eliminate the fraction.

43560N = 36 * .75 * 3N * ^2
43560N = 81 ^ 2 Multiplication

43560N = 6561
---------- ----- Divided by 43560
43560 43560

N = .15061 ?

==========================
"How did you get this....
43560N = 12 * 3 *.25 * 3 * 3N ^2....on the second line of your calcs"

I was guessing:

I multiplied by 3 to eliminate the fraction.

43560N = 36 * .75 * 3N * ^2
=========================

If you had multiplied the whole equation it would have eliminated the fraction
The RHS multiplied by 3 would have been.... 3x(12 * .25 * N/3) ^2 = 3N^2
And the LHS would have been 3 x 43560N......
Giving a times 3 on each side so divide both sides by 3N to get N = 43560
So there was no need to do it in the first place.......
