A fence is to be constructed using the following dimensions:

Width between posts- 95 inches.

Width of one slat- 3.5 inches.

Spacing between slats- .5 inches.

Calculate number of slats needed to fit. Thanks.

3.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4 inches (slat width + 2x half space each side measurement).

22 x 4 = 88 inches = 11 each side of middle.+

need 3.5 inches at each side to finish

Put first and last slat tight to post and leave the last space at each end 0.25 instead of 0.5.
OR cut 0.25 from each end slat width OR shuffle the spaces by one 20th of the 0.5 inch to distribte the error.....

Middle of the space between the 2 middle slats has to be in the middle between posts
with 12 slats each side of middle....24 slats altogether.
