Log 6 = .77815

Unsure how to proceed.

According to the little book I have:

To multiply two or more numbers using logarithms, add the logarithms, and sum will be logarithm of product.

To divide " " " " " , subract " of divisor from " of dividend, and result will be " of quotient.

Book does not list how to add or subtract numbers, so I did online search. I did not find any rules for addition or subtraction.
