So far, geoengineering is at a low enough level to change or correct something radically on a global scale. Large-scale funding from the UN is needed for the process to take a steep turn, but we will not see global changes in the next decade.

Posted on February 25, 2021, by Eliza Daley.

"... I think Kolbert would agree with me. That she wrote Under a White Sky without once passing judgment on engineering biology as a concept shows her amazing skill as a writer and a reporter. It is easy to write about what you agree with. It is very difficult to discuss disputable topics that challenge your beliefs with clarity and depth. But this is what is needed. We need to thoroughly analyze these plans before we set them in motion, and that analysis ought to come from outside science so as to avoid bias and emotional investment. Under a White Sky is an excellent contribution to that discussion."

The situation is not completely hopeless. Safe and effective global geoengineering along with global cooperation of the United Nations (+192 nations) to mitigate climate change in a timely fashion and with some timely help from Mother Earth and with some good luck/miracle (thank you, Lord GOD! Amen!), we (humans) will overcome the current climate crisis and survive/thrive...
