There is something wrong with your solution.

Whenever you have such equations you can substitute with the results and check it. In your case when substitute with -6/5 you will not receive equality. x=-6/5 is not solution in this case.

|2x| - |3x| = -6

When x < 0 then |2x|= -2x and |3x| = -3x and the equation becomes

- 2x + 3x = -6
or x = -6
Now if we test for x = -6 in the original equation, it satisfies it hence x = -6 is one of the solutions

Now when x > 0, then |2x|= 2x and |3x| = 3x and the equation becomes as shown below

2x - 3x = -6
or x = 6 and if this is substituted in the given equation, satisfies the solution hence x = 6 is the other solution

Hence x = +/- 6 is the solution

Ans:-So !st will be :-
-2x +3x = -6
So solve it .
Now
2nd
2x -3x = -6
-x = -6
x= 6 ...

So here is the answer .

We have [tex]|x| \cdot (-1)=-6[/tex] implies [tex]|x|=6 \Rightarrow x = \pm 6[/tex].

As the given equation is 2x-3x= -6

Let us put the value of x = 6

we will get

=> 2(6) - 3(6) = -6

=> 12 - 18 = -6

so we will get -6 if we subtract 12 - 18 so hence proved

x= 6
