What am I missing?

What am I missing?

Postby Guest » Mon Jul 10, 2017 7:39 am

Given
ax^2 + bx + c =0 has roots [tex]\alpha,\beta[/tex] ,
Also [tex]\alpha=\beta^2[/tex]
Prove c(a-b)^3 = a(c-b)^3

Using the sum and difference of roots (?) seems to hit a brick wall.

Any help, years since I did anything like this.

Sorry, it's guest again.

I should have written sum and product of roots!
I said it has been some time.

Did you try using Vieta's formulas?
What happens when you remove the parentheses could you write, please?
